This is a photograph of the Dillon Home in Sterling, Illinois. John P. Dillon was the founder of Northwestern Steel and Wire Company, situated on the RocK River in Sterling. During it's time, the steel mill was one of the largest in the country employing more then 2, 500 people. The mill was known for making barbwire and large steel girders for architeture puposes and highways. The Dillon family built this home and lived there until their death. The Dillon grounds now have a museum and houses one of the locamotives and cars that where used at the mill. There are tours of the interior of the home that describe the Dillon family life and style they were accustom to.
