I took this photograph after a morning shower. The lily give me a feeling of an antique look. I particularly liked the ruffles on the petals as well as it's color. Hello my name is Bruce Bley. I am a retired art instructor. I taught in a public high school for 35 years. I enjoyed teaching students and helping them develop their own style of work. Now during my retirement I am pursuing my own passion for creating artwork. I enjoy working from nature. As an artist I want to capture the beauty of what nature has to offer. Too often in our society people don't take the time to stop and see what nature has to offer. It can be as simple as the color of a flower, the veins of a petal, and the beauty of it's stamen and pistils. Wendy, It looks like we have made each others day! I am glad this photograph brought back memories of your mother. As a self taught photographer my goal is to have people enjoy my work and if it helps remembering something from one's past, then I know it was a sucess. I have the same feeling when I photograph Peace Roses. They were my parents favorite flower and it is as if they are speaking to me everytime I photograph one.
