Description
This photograph of a white daisy was taken while on a drive on one of my local roads. I love taking photographs of flowers, illustrating the color and detail.
Bellis perennis is a common European species of daisy, of the Asteraceae family, often considered the archetypal species of that name.
Many related plants also share the name "daisy", so to distinguish this species from other daisies it is sometimes qualified as common daisy, lawn daisy or English daisy. Historically, it has also been commonly known as bruisewort and occasionally woundwort (although the common name woundwort is now more closely associated with Stachys (woundworts)). Bellis perennis is native to western, central and northern Europe, but widely naturalised in most temperate regions including America
I hope you have enjoyed this photograph. You can see more of my work on my homepage in the various galleries I have created. Thank you for visiting and please come back.

Lovely daisy macro, Bruce. It's simply beautiful...there's beauty in the simplicity. There's something about daisies. They're a simple, classic flower- like you say- but charmingly delightful. L/F
