I took this photograph (while visiting the Quad City Botanical Gardens in Rock Island, Illinois) of a monarch butterfly that had landed on a flower collecting it's nectar. We also need to get the word out that people (farms) have to chose new pesticides because as the Monarchs cross the US they are being killed off by indescriminate use of pesticides. Thanks for sharing!

WOW! LUV monarchs! LUV this photo! This past summer, my granddaughter got me interested and hooked on raising monarch caterpillars into butterflies. What a glorious event of God's awesomeness to witness! Beautiful photo......!!!! ~deb

Beautiful photo, Bruce. I LUV monarchs.....so much so that this year I decided to try 'raising' them in my house to save them from predators that get most of them (caterpillars) outdoors. I currently have 21 chrysalides upstairs,,,all of them ready to emerge from now and for the next 2 weeks. =) I see you captured this one on the mexican sunflower. They seem to luv those flowers. Anyway.....beautiful photo. Happy shooting! ~deb
