Description
Plumbago auriculata, is an evergreen shrub, often grown as a climber, ascending rapidly to 20 feet tall by 10 feet wide in nature, though much smaller when cultivated as a houseplant. It has light blue to lavender flowers and also variations with white (P. auriculata var. alba) or deep blue (P. auriculata 'Royal cape') flowers. The leaves are a glossy green and grow to 2 inches long. Plumbago grows best in full sun to part shade. This photograph was taken while visiting the Quad City Botanical Garden in Rock Island, Illinois.
